Despite a few cleanliness issues, the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Salem Hotel & Conference Center provided affordable accommodations, with easy access to local attractions like Hanging Rock Golf Club and the Salem Museum. The outdoor pool with mountain views was a definite highlight, and the hotel's meeting rooms were well-equipped. However, the initial room smelled of smoke, and the back of the building felt odd. The staff were friendly but room maintenance was lacking. Dry cleaning and laundry facilities would have been a plus. I would consider staying here again for the value and location.
